The Foray was held in Perrenoud Wildlife Habitat Area – approximately 1 hour drive NW from Calgary Centre. This is a 321 acre natural area.
Christine and Barb had foraged for mushrooms the day before in the Pigeon Lake area. These mushrooms were initially displayed on the table in order to present a learning experience. Of note were Amainita muscaria, Amanita vaginata, Hemileccinum subglabripes which were found at Pigeon Lake, but none of these types were found in the Perrenoud forest.
