A coolish walk through Mill Creek Ravine evoked its history. The woods were filled with the introduced species of the settlers, the millers and the industrialists: young and mature Manitoba maple, mountain ash and cotoneaster. Enough Aspen, balsam poplar and spruce filled in the spaces. Foliage covering the floor were the forget-me-nots, Canada violets, wild sarsaparilla, lily of the valley and a smattering of underbrush. Few gilled mushrooms were found.
