Every year the AMS hosts “the Greatest Show from Earth”: The Wild Mushroom Expo!
Volunteer members across the greater Edmonton area forage and collect fresh fungi the day before the event to display on lush sustainably-collected moss beds, bringing the wonderful world of mushrooms closer to the general public. In 2023, we collected over 75 different species of fungi! Our fabulous Mushroom Café sells mushroom-infused goodies made from wild and locally grown mushrooms. Our Guest Chef creates complimentary dishes for folks to sample. For the first time, we had a Vendor Area with local artists, creators, and businesses sharing their love of fungi! Also for the first time, a clay art contest put a lot of young member’s creative skills to the test.
