Fiesta Lake Conservation Area

Weather: Sunny day with clear skies. The temperature was around 25C
The area is located 12 km south of Caroline, which is about a 1:45 minute drive from Calgary. The area is an Alberta Conservation Association site, densely wooded with a mix of pine, spruce and aspen. Recent rains made for a good bounty of mushrooms. The total number of individual mushrooms found is unknown. The total number of different types of mushroom was approximately 21-40 types. The following specimens were found: Agaricus silvicola, Ampulloclitocybe clavipes (aka Clitocybe clavipes), Cortinarius venetus, Fomitopsis ochracea, Gloeophyllum sepiarium, Gomphidius glutinosus, Hericium coralloides, Leccinum boreale, Phellinus tremulae, Russula emetica, Trichaptum biforme, Tricholoma saponaceum
