NW Calgary Foray in the City from 1-3 PM
Foray was led by Barb Shworak and Christine Costello
Attendees: 24
Cool cloudy day, temperature around 16°C. Foray was held in the Rocky Ridge area, near some small patches of forested area, mostly aspen and poplars. Members were also asked to bring some mushrooms they may have found in their gardens, neighbourhoods or hikes. A good selection of mushrooms were brought in for a learning experience. The short foray in the area produced mainly Leccinum insigne (aspen) and Coprinus comatus (Shaggy manes). Phellinus tremulae (aspen bracket) was also noted as a parasite on the side of aspen.
